Death of a dream

A dream died a silent death this afternoon

It was meant to happen.
Life was going too fast, too smooth
something had to break the momentum
of happiness and contentment

Or was it inertia?
Was it complacency?
Was I content basking in today?
So satisfied that I did not think of tomorrow?

A dream died
And took with it
a chunk of me;
my optimism and faith
my vision of the future
my hopes for tomorrow

A dream is dead
forever.

no! dreams cannot die. we die but we pass on our dreams. if these lines are the end result of our so called spontaneous overflow of emotions, it is a beautiful poem. if not, let's sing along: "main zindagi ka shath nibhata chala gaya, har fikr ko dhuen mein udata chala gaya". sometimes, life can be a song too...i did read your last post on smoking.

Hi all, I wrote this in a moment of utter desolation. Fortunately for me it has passed. People tell me I am strong and can brave any storm. My desolate mood passed because I fought it. Sometimes our inner strength is all we have.

All the words of comfort and reassurance I read here renewed my hope in a tomorrow that I will build without losing sight of my goal, with vigour and passion. There will be no looking back!

Thank you all for showing me who I am!
